  • OM2: 50/125μm core/cladding, 500 MHz·km bandwidth @850nm

OM1/OM2 multi-core ribbon fiber optic cables provide a cost-effective multimode solution for legacy and moderate-speed network applications. These cables feature multiple 62.5μm (OM1) or 50μm (OM2) fibers arranged in a flat ribbon configuration, enabling space-efficient high-density installations. While offering lower bandwidth than newer OM3/OM4 standards, they remain suitable for 1Gbps Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and other legacy systems where high-speed performance isn’t critical.
